Andrew Canada, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Pharmacist-In-Charge

Dr. Canada received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia his Pharm.D. degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in Environmental Health. He has practiced pharmacy for over 40 years in both the hospital and retail areas. He founded GLOBALRx in 1996 with the primary purpose of providing USA-drugs internationally to countries where those drugs were not available. He is married with a daughter, who is a physician in Philadelphia. His passion is fly-fishing.

Waqas Ali, Pharmaceutical Broker

Waqas Ali grew up overseas, and moved to America with his family in February of 1995. He received his B.S in International Business Management from the Cameron School of Business at UNC-Wilmington. He spent his last semester as an undergrad studying at Bremen University in Germany. His academic and personal achieve ments have been recognized by the U.S Department of State and various other national and international organizations. He joined GLOBALRx in February of 2012, and is thrilled to be working with a friendly and professional staff. Outside of GLOBALRx, he has been a successful business owner for over three years, and plans to return to school to pursue a PHD. His ultimate goal is to one day become a college professor, and eventually retire to a small tropical country.

Donta Lamont Booker, Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Donta Lamont Booker was born in Alamance County in 1977. He graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 1996. After High School he joined the work force working for small business in Burlington, North Carolina until joining GLOBALRx in April 2007. He has one son, Cameron Drake Booker. Donta loves to coach his son’s basketball team and watching his son race motorcycles in his time off.

Karen Carter, International Pharmaceutical Broker

Karen grew up in Illinois with her mother,younger brother and sister. She studied Psychology at Parkland College in Champaign,IL and went on to earn her B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009. Karen is absolutely enamored with North Carolina. Away from her job at GLOBALRx she loves running, spending time with her husband, catching up with her family, and decorating.

John T. Cutter, MBA, Director of Business Development

John focuses on partnering with US pharmaceutical manufacturers to export FDA approved products, and identifying new health care partners for GLOBALRx around the world. He graduated from Colgate University and received his MBA from Columbia Univesity. John has 20 years experience in international pharmaceutical management working for Bayer AG in South America, for Bayer Biological Products as Director MEEA Region, and for Talecris Biotherapeutics as General Manager for Intercontinental- a $ 130 million Region comprising of Middle East, Far East, Eastern Europe, Latin Americas, and Africa.

Tracy Powers, Pharmaceutical Broker

Tracy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. Before joining GLOBALRx in January 2013, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Positive Emotions and Psychophysiology Lab at UNC. Away from GLOBALRx she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Jessica Slaughter, International Pharmaceutical Broker

Before joining the GLOBALRx team in February 2005, Jessica worked as an Administrative Assistant in Clinical Trials for Boston Scientific. In 2009, she attended Durham Technical Community College and received certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. Outside of GLOBALRx, she is an active member of her local fire department, and enjoys spending time with family and working in her garden.
