Pasar (Aminosalcylate)
Purpose of Medication and Method of Action
Pasar is used along with other antitubucular drugs to treat tuberculosis. It both prevents the organism from growing and prevents the development of reisitant strains to other antitubucular drugs.
Side Effects
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal and include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Occasionally, allergic reactions may occur characterized by skin rash, fever, and anemia.

Usual Dose
The usual dose is 4 Gm (1 packet) three times a day.
Note
DO NOT USE if packet is swollen or granules appear very dark brown or purple (normal color is tan).
