Noxafil (Posaconazole)
Purpose of Medication and Method of Action
Noxafil has been approved for the prophylaxis against Apergillus and Candida infections in patients whose immune systems have been compromised by chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants, or from prolonged depression of white blood cells. It is available as an oral suspension.
Drug Interactions
Patients taking either cyclosporine or tacrolimus will require dose reductions if Noxifil is added to therapy.
