Andrew Canada, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Pharmacist-In-Charge

Dr. Canada received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia his Pharm.D. degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in Environmental Health. He has practiced pharmacy for over 40 years in both the hospital and retail areas. He founded GLOBALRx in 1996 with the primary purpose of providing USA-drugs internationally to countries where those drugs were not available. He is married with a daughter, who is a physician in Philadelphia. His passion is fly-fishing.

Annette Johnson, Internet Communications Coordinator

Following her graduation from Durham Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in arts in 2001, Annette graduated from Baker College with her degree in business administration, majoring in human resource management in 2004. She has been married to her husband Todd, an Interventional Vascular Technologist for 14 years. Annette enjoys a variety of activities such as woodworking, home design, fishing, art, cooking, and spending time with her pets (horses and cats), friends, and family.

Charles R. Jackson, Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Charles was born in Atlanta, Ga. and moved to North Carolina in 1967. His entire work career was spent at one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world “Glaxosmithkline”. He spent 31 years there retiring in 2001. He is an avid motorcycle rider and he and his wife spend their summers riding around the country on their 3003 Goldwing Honda motorcycle. He and his wife live in Cedar Grove, North Carolina.

Jessica Lena Huffman Slaughter, Administrative Assistant

Jessica joined the team at Global Rx in February of 2005. Before joining the Global Rx team, Jessica worked as an Apartment Supervisor. Jessica grew up in Efland, North Carolina, just a few short miles from Global Rx. Jessica is the third child of 4 children. She has one older brother, one older sister, and one younger sister. She and her sisters are very close, and get together often, to cook all sorts of new and interesting dishes. Jessica has been married to her husband, Jeremy, a market manger for Lowe's Food Stores, for nearly 10 years. Jessica has three very active little girls, Austin, Julia, and Abigail, whom she enjoys reading to, and playing games with. Jessica is an avid gardener, and loves the spring when she can plant many different vegetables, that she cans, freezes and dehydrates.

Steve Detter RPh., Part-time Staff Pharmacist

Steve graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his degree in Pharmacy in 1974. He has worked in a variety of settings including independent and chain pharmacy. Steve owned his own store for 13 years. He now works part time for GlobalRx and CVS Pharmacy. He has a passion rescuing cats, as he now takes care of over 20 of them. He also loves to ride his bike when he can find time.
