Andrew Canada, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Pharmacist-In-Charge
Dr. Canada received his B.S. in Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia his Pharm.D. degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in Environmental Health. He has practiced pharmacy for over 40 years in both the hospital and retail areas. He founded GLOBALRx in 1996 with the primary purpose of providing USA-drugs internationally to countries where those drugs were not available. He is married with a daughter, who is a physician in Philadelphia. His passion is fly-fishing.
Annette Johnson, Internet Communications Coordinator
Following her graduation from Durham Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in arts in 2001, Annette graduated from Baker College with her degree in business administration, majoring in human resource management in 2004. Away from GLOBALRx, Annette’s interests include spending time with her friends, cat and horses, fishing, art, and cooking.
Jessica Slaughter, International Medication Broker
Before joining the GLOBALRx team in February 2005, Jessica worked as an Administrative Assistant for Boston Scientific in Clinical Trails. She has been married for 13 years, and has three daughters. Outside of GLOBALRx, she enjoys baking, gardening, canning, fishing, architecture, and riding horses.
Constance N. Smith, International Medication Broker
In May 2009, Constance graduated with a bachelor's degree in English from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She was born in Rome, Georgia and moved to Durham, North Carolina in February 2010 with her husband, David. Before joining GLOBALRx, Constance worked in the banking, sales, customer service, and real estate industries. When away from GLOBALRx, Constance enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, writing, creating jewelry, cars, traveling, cooking, organizing, and anything educational.
Steve Detter RPh., Part-time Staff Pharmacist
Steve graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his degree in Pharmacy in 1974. He has worked in a variety of settings including independent and chain pharmacy. Steve owned his own store for 13 years. He now works part time for GlobalRx and CVS Pharmacy. He has a passion rescuing cats, as he now takes care of over 20 of them. He also loves to ride his bike when he can find time.
Cal Beddingfield RPh., Part-time Staff Pharmacist
Cal graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his degree in Pharmacy in 1994. He has worked in a variety of settings including hospital and chain pharmacy. He now works part time for GLOBALRx and Physicians’ Pharmacy Alliance in Cary. He enjoys traveling with his wife and is also an avid golfer.
Donta Lamont Booker, Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
Donta Lamont Booker was born in Alamance County in 1977. He graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 1996. After High School he joined the work force working for small business in Burlington, North Carolina until joining GLOBALRx in April 2007. He has one son, Cameron Drake Booker. Donta loves to coach his son’s basketball team and watching his son race motorcycles in his time off.
